The oral tradition shows us
that one of the best ways of learning is by means of the rhyme and rhythm. The
child’s songs are the magic, invisible thread which transmits several activities associated with the memory,
coordination and space. Through songs and childish games, girls and boys, take
contact with the reality.
In the world of the oral
spreading, it is natural that coexist semantic and grammatical variants. The
Brazilian, song, “A minha velha tem”, “My old Mom has”, is not indifferent to
the fact. It is possible to find it
under the name, “A minha velha tem um pintinho” ,”My old Mom has a little
chick”, “A minha velha tem uma galinha”, “My old Mom has a hen”, “Minha casa
tem”, “At home there is”. In some texts, the refrain comes in plural, “Os
pintinhos piam” “The little chickens chirp,cheep, tweet”. Names and number of animals
also suffer the spontaneity of the oral transmission.

In the acquisition of
languages to use songs is an ideal and gratifying method, both, for pupils and
teachers. To teach and learn a new language there is no method better than to
turn into children... They do not have the sense of ridiculous!
“A minha velha tem”, “My old
Mom has”, is similar to another infantile song, “Old MacDonald has a farm”, and
serves, mainly, to memorise the name of the animals and it respective sounds.
