MINERS LOCKED AND WOMEN PROTEST AT SENATE

In the entrails of the earth

In enormous hole
Between tunnels, caverns
Galleries, shafts, chimneys
Seven miners are locked
Defend their being:
“I am miner!”
“Miner I am of the coal!”

The mine is all my reason!
The mine is our livelihood!
The future of my region!
We do not ask for
Any more money!

We just want to work
The signed agreements
Fulfilled
To go to the huge pit...
Nothing more!
Meanwhile,
Women from coalfields
Of Asturias, Palencia,

Teruel and León
Went to protest to Madrid
 In convoies.
Look what happened!
They come very formal

In the palace of the Senate.
“What a luxury!
It is too much!
And our miners
In four square meters
Distressed in a bad black life!”
“Girl put more care!”

"This costs a mouthful!"
And in the hall of the palace...
That usually things move slow...
Quickly!...
The senate without considerate throw....

The agreements of the mining coal...
Fucking far!
Seeing the future of the coal
Sink in luxurious palace
Women did as their mothers
And grandmothers have done
Whirling the black lungs
Started first to singing:

The/ mine/ is/ our/ livelihood/
The/ coal/ is/ our/ power/
If/ the/ mining/ industry/ finishes/
Be/ aware! / be/ aware/ senators.
Be/ aware! / What/ are/ you/ going/ to/ do! /

Then, fearing the firedamp
The authorities   threw/
The women of miners out
Of Senate’s  Hall.
Women showing their black T-shirts
Went out in exclamation:
There is no will!
Just thick-headedness!
Traitors!
You extract the soul of the region!
Irresponsible!
You bury forever its heart!

They have balls!
We have ovaries!
We are the women of the miners!
Here we are! It is true!
We are the women of the coal!
